Merci!

Sempre nell'Haut Marais si trova Merci (boulevard Beaumarchais 111, www.merci-merci.com), il grande concept store su tre piani (1.500 metri quadrati) ideato per aiutare i bambini poveri del Madagascar (cui va il ricavato delle vendite) da Marie France e Bernard Cohen, fondatori del marchio Bonpoint. Dentro trovate: moda vintage e contemporanea, gioielli, tessuti, oggetti per la casa, libri. E anche un bar e un ristorante!

Always in Haut Marais you find Merci (boulevard Beaumarchais 111, www.merci-merci.com), a big concept store on 3 floors (1.500 sq. m) created by Marie France e Bernard Cohen, founders of  Bonpoint brand, to help Madagascar poor children (to whom goes the money earnt from the sells). Inside you find: vintage and contemporary fashion, jewels, fabrics, home objects, books. And also a bar and a restaurant!

Marchè des enfant rouges.

A pochi passi dal nostro Hotel (Hotel du Haut Marais, lo trovate nel precedente post) ecco il Marché des enfants rouges (rue Bretagne 39) che, come ho poi scoperto, è  il più antico mercato coperto di Parigi (1615). Piccolo, ma con un grande fascino, oggi ospita boutique di fiori, ristoranti etnici (ho mangiato un delizioso cous cous), negozi di alimenti bio e anche un negozio che vende vecchie fotografie in bianco e nero. Nelle tranquille strade attorno al mercato, atelier, gallerie, ristoranti, boutique, bar ...

A few steps from our Hotel (Hotel du Haut Marais, you find it in last post) there's Marché des enfants rouges (rue Bretagne 39) which, as I discovered later, is the oldest covered market in Paris (1615). Little, but with a great charme, nowadays it hosts flowers shops, ethnic restaurants (I had a great cous cous for lunch), shops which sell organic food and also a shop which sell vintage black and white pictures. In the calm streets around the market, atelier, galleries, restaurants, shops, bars ...

Appena di ritorno da tre giorni di shopping a Parigi con un'amica ... che chiedere di più  dalla vita?

Abbiamo soggiornato all'Hôtel du Haut Marais, nel quartiere del Marais, più una casa (solo 5 camere doppie, due suites e un appartamento per 4 persone, oltre ad un piccolo salotto ed alla zona colazione) che un albergo, a 5 minuti a piedi da una zona piena di gallerie d'arte e boutiques di tendenza, a 10 minuti a piedi dalla Place des Vosges. Quindi: buona posizione, ottimo gusto nell'arredamento, colazione ottima e ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. Direi perfetto! I've just come back home after three days shopping in Paris with a friend ... what to ask more from life?

We stayed at Hôtel du Haut Marais, in Marais area, more a home (only 5 double rooms, two suites and an apartment for 4 persons, and a little dining room and the breakfast zone) than an hotel, five minutes walking from a zone full of art galeries and trendy boutiques, 10 minutes walking from Place des Vosges. So: nice position, very good tasting in decorating the place, wonderful breakfast and very good relation between quality and price. I would say perfect! Mi piace avere tutto in ordine ed in bella vista, siano i molti bijoux (che vedete in questo post) o piatti, bicchieri, profumi, etc... (che vedrete nei prossimi post). Praticità e decor, perchè no?

I like to have all in order and in nice view, as many bijoux (which you see in this post) or plates, glasses, perfumes, etc... (which you'll see in next posts). Practice and decor, why not?

E' il mio stile! It's my style!

Ormai si è capito, non amo il minimalismo, nè il troppo nuovo; questa casa, dunque, per me è perfetta! Pavimento a quadroni bianchi e neri, tanti libri, oggetti, qualche parete colorata (bello il contrasto tra le pareti verdi che portano in cucina e il pavimento a quadri), il salotto dominato da un vecchio e bellissimo poster che pubblicizza i panettoni Motta (lo devo trovare anch'io!), di famiglia, un lampadario di vetro colorato (di Murano), una grande specchiera sulle scale, oggetti e foto ovunque ... molto accogliente, e infatti la padrona di casa stamattina mi ha accolto per foto e caffè ...

You've understood I don't like minimalism, neither too new things; so this home to me is perfect! Floor with white and black squares, many books, objects, some coloured wall (nice the contrast between green walls which take to the kitchen and the squares floor), the dining room dominated by a vintage, beautiful poster which advertise Motta panettones (I have to find one similar!), a family memory, a coloured glass chandelier (from Murano), a big mirror on the stairs, objects and pictures everyplace ... very cosy, and infact this morning the lady of the home invited me for making pictures and drinking a coffe...
